Narcoleptic Voidhunter

Ihzu'to is an odd Keeper hailing from the deep swamps of the East End, and from a clan that traces ancestry to the time before the Great Flood. A skilled magic-user and swordsman, Ihzu’to’s purpose in life is to fight Voidsent which threaten his homeland, and the star on whole. Like many of his clan, he has taken to wandering to fulfill that purpose, but he is also known to take an occasional side job for gil.

Appearance

Ihzu'to is extremely small, even for a Miqo'te. His young face and short stature often make others underestimate his strength and intelligence. He’s more lithe and flexible than he is physically built, and overly baggy clothes often hide the fact he’s a bit scrawny. His complexion is dark and ashy, and his short, fluffy hair is a very pale blue color. It frames dark, almost black eyes that are usually rimmed with a shadow from lack of sleep. His tail is also cropped short, thanks to a run-in with a particularly snappy Voidsent.

Personality

Ihzu'to is a quiet individual. For someone so young, he’s often compared to a moody old man. He’s blunt in his speech, objective, and does not like to waste time. He is rather apathetic and therefore comes off as rude more often than not, but he honestly probably just wants to take a nap. Ihzu'to suffers from a mild form of narcolepsy, and while it is rare, he has been known to fall asleep mid-conversation or in other situations. He usually comes to fairly quickly, and he finds it more an annoyance than anything else. He loves sleep in general, however, especially when it is actually planned.

Being that he is a man of few words, it is hard to tell when Ihzu'to is actually happy, or even upset. He speaks in a calm and even tone, no matter the circumstance, and he wears the same neutral expression. However, he is quite fond of sweets, especially cakes and cookies. He gets a rather telling gleam in his eye at the mere mention of them.

Hooks

Below is a list of hooks that might help us facilitate an IC reason for meeting. These are just suggestions, and the most common ways to get involved with this character. Have another idea or way to hook in some roleplay? Feel free to let me know.

  • Void Hunter: Ihzu’to makes no secret of what he does. He hunts and destroys voidsent and void mages, if it comes to it. The wandering Miqo’te could have saved someone from, helped with, or took over a voidsent kill. Ihzu’to follows his clan’s strict teaching that all tied to the Void is evil, and should be exorcised or killed. Fellow hunter? Someone who dabbles in dark magic?

  • Relics and the Occult: Being so tied to his clans teachings, it is not unheard of for him to seek out powerful or dangerous arcane relics to destroy or bring back to his clan. If Ihzu'to has found word of such a thing, or someone who deals in objects of this nature, he may be keen to seek them out. Or steal them.

  • Native Gyr Abanian: The Venha are a secretive clan that have been around for many, many generations. However, it is only with the push of the Garlean forces from the land and the retaking of Ala Mhigo that many have begun to branch away from their homeland. Ihzu'to still feels the most comfortable in the woods in the Fringes of the nation.

Note-worthy NPCs

  • Oruh Venha: To most, Oruh is the eldest Venha matriarch, but to Ihzu'to, she is his strange aunt. Ihzu'to respects her, but he also sees the woman as a grandmother figure. He remembers seeking her out for advice while growing up, and appreciated her guidance in magic.

  • Ihzu Venha: Ihzu'to is quite fond of his mother. He idolizes her strength and skill with a blade, and is actually very much like her. The woman is quiet and determined, speaking only when necessary. He thanks his mother for his upbringing, allowing him to be independent and never coddled. He thinks of this as one of the best ways she could have shown him affection.

  • Sihn Venha: His youngest aunt is far too loud for his liking, he would say. Ihzu'to tends to stay far away from her and members of her kin as they all tend to share that rebellious and annoying spark. He acknowledges her magical prowess, but admits to never actually seeing her use it in battle.

Player Characters

  • Oruh'to Venha: Oruh'to is one of the few cousins Ihzu'to considers himself close with. And that may be a stretch. Born fairly close together, the two were raised, and trained together. While they are completely opposite in personality and magical capability, they have found traveling together allows mutual benefits. His cousin's attitude needs work, and Ihzu'to often expresses it by calling him a fool. But Ihzu'to truly respects him, and actually looks to him when he finds himself unable to speak. He trusts him to watch his back should he pass out unexpectedly.

  • Orrian Servais: Ihzu'to heard a rumor of a mysterious potion dealer by the name of Crow. Seeking a way to combat his sleeping disorder, and therefore become better suited for his mission, the Keeper sought the man out. Orrian asked for a favor in return, however, a Voidsent core. Ihzu'to has since been taken on as a pseudo-apprentice of sorts.

Hey, I'm Hithren, and I've been doing this RP thing for about fifteen years, about five of them being in FFXIV. Below is some stuff you might want to know about me before engaging to make it easier on the both of us.

Disclaimer

As a general disclaimer: I suffer from major anxiety. If I do not answer or engage with you right away, please do not be offended. Sometimes I freeze up, or get discouraged.

I do not engage in ERP unless it is with close friends who I have gotten to know OOCly, and my characters have formed bonds with ICly. If you're looking for someone to satisfy such things, I'm likely not the roleplay partner for you. Don't get me wrong, I love ships and romance, but I do prefer organic development above all else.

I am not a multi-verse/AU roleplayer.

I prefer my roleplay to be lore-compliant ( within reason, we all bend a bit here and there), story/plot-driven, and mature-themed.

Accessibility

I am located in the PDT/PST timezone. At the moment I have a fluctuating schedule, so I prefer setting things up in advance rather than walk-ups. My main cast of characters are located on the Balmung server, and I do have some alts on Mateus and Goblin. I am more than happy to accommodate others via the World Visit system, however.

I predominantly roleplay in-game, and prefer this method over all others. I am open to Discord RP if that is the only way we can work something out, but I will warn in advance, I do tend to be slow to reply.
